6 Game Reviews w/ Response

Well here's my opinion. It's a well made game in that the notes are very responsive to the hits. And that's about all of the good I really have to say. Although it responds nicely, the game itself isn't very diverse. It's a single song on repeat and the notes don't really correspond to the music. There is no variety even in the notes; it's a constant stream of quarter notes. The interface is pretty bland with no visuals except what is necessary, and even then it's only in black and white. You really have to put time into these types of things if you want a good score. You have the beginnings of a pretty good rhythm game(not a very unique one atm though), but that's about it. Hope you come back and do more with this.

I probably won't improve on this though, mostly because I'm just making a ton of practice games to experiment with different concepts, and this one was practicing installing medals in AS3. I look forward to actually making full projects in the future, and that you can rate those games more stars for me. XD Thanks for the review.

Pretty cool game man. Controls nicely and the art is pleasant. Only problem I'm having is that the scoreboard won't load, which kind of sucks because I just scored 7th all time.

molkman responds:

Seems to be a NG thing, should be working again soonish!

Wow, that was a truly refreshing game. Great game concept, and it is executed relatively well throughout the game. Although it can be a little frustrating at times, that's part of solving the crime :P. Awesome ending as well. I hope to see more games from you in the future.

PeltastDesign responds:

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Amazing game

I thought this was one of the most creative and well put together games I've seen in a while. It combined two of my favorite game types into one. The interface was colorful and very stylish. I found only one glitch which is when you play songs and then come back later and reload the page, no matter what song you pick, it tries to make you do the beginner tutorial.

FrozenFire responds:

That glitch will be fixed very soon! Thanks for the review! :)

Umm

I understand this was part of a 1 hour challenge, but seriously. As soon as you load the page, the game begins causing you to lose if you aren't ready. Once you lose the only way to restart is by refreshing the page, you didn't even make a retry button. Even if you fall off of the screen going down, the game freezes and you need to restart. It is like every other game of this genre(don't know the name for it), but with nothing special to contribute. Sorry I had to give it a 5.

AegisTheGoat responds:

Completely understandable. No one should rate this game based on the fact that it was made in one hour, but rather should treat it just the same as every other game. I had to set my priorities for what would be made when, e.g. game engine, then balancing, then extras. (Retry button, score, etc.) I had to defuse a bug bomb midway so I lost about 5 minutes which I could have used for a reset. No time to make a 'new' game genre either. Just gotta choose a generic one and Go! Go! Go!

Thanks for the comments. I understand refreshing the page is annoying and I'll try to get one with in the time next compo.

Brilliant. Pancakes made my day.

Its one of the best games I've played today :D. Good job and keep up the good work. It's a good game to rolf a lot in(expectially the food part.) Thx for making my day.
